VIRTUAL FIELD TRIPS

A virtual field trip takes students somewhere to give them the virtual experience of what it would be like to actually visit that place, time, etc. A web-enhanced lesson uses the web to give students more information, but does not provide them with a virtual experience.
Virtual Field Trips - some ideas:
1. Fact-finding missions – VFTs dedicated to learning about a nation, religion, person, event, or issue.
2. Cultural awareness – VFTs focused on using online museums to analyze cultural artifacts.
3. Concept application – VFTs centered on applying theory to real-world situations and personalities.
4. Primary source exposure – VFTs dedicated to providing students with a first-hand look at a particular event or issue.
